Yellow Aircraft ARF's are individually hand-built from the same high-quality kits we sell. Our kits are designed by Dr. Charles Tse, a Ph.D. in Aeronautical Engineering. The excellent flight performance of Y/A birds is well-established in the industry, and owners of our ARF's can confidently fly knowing that there are no nasty surprises waiting for them. These days, the internet is full of photo-documented horror stories of under-engineered or shoddily built ARF's which are rushed out the door to unfortunate customers who have no way of knowing what is inside the wing. These stories often reveal a total lack of understanding about the most rudimentary principals of structural design (let alone the complex concepts of design and engineering of high performance, high-speed aircraft). In those cases, the manufacturers typically reject any responsibility for poor designs or dismal quality-control--leaving the modeler with more than just a broken heart. With Yellow Aircraft ARF's, these are non-issues. The fit and finish of our ARF's is astonishing, and the beauty is not merely skin-deep. The intelligent use of composite structures, carbon reinforcements and ball-bearing supported titanium shafts yields a model airplane truly ready for action.
QUALITY IN MANUFACTURE
Generally speaking, the only modelers who don't agree that Yellow Aircraft makes the best ARF in the industry are those who have not seen one. It is common for us here at Yellow to have a customer inquire about prices, then balk at the price with, "But the [Brand X] F-15 ARF is less than that and includes the tanks, gear and pipe!" For those customers, we lovingly try to explain that sometimes there is a huge quality gulf between brands, and that price is different than value. For example: If your included "Brand X" pipe collapses; the included door cylinders (which look like a sleepy five-year-old installed them) or valves leak; the included tanks leak; or the landing gear fail to retract and/or deploy reliably--then you have to wonder if you still came out ahead after you replace those items (or suffer the crash they cause).
A true ARF shouldn't require the builder to build. Even some of the far more expensive 'high end' ARF's out there require almost as much assembly as a kit before you install your gear! A Yellow Aircraft ARF is just that--ALMOST READY. When you open the box and remove your new Yellow Aircraft F-15 ARF, you can immediately begin to install your undercarriage, engine and electronics. You will not need to hinge any doors, install any cylinders, glue in any canopy glass, or build any hatches or latches. More importantly, unlike many of the F-15 ARF's out there, you will not have to redesign or re-engineer anything because the manufacturer didn't bother to attempt to assemble one of their products themselves (thereby discovering that two objects cannot occupy the same space at the same time).
